In a landmark move to position India as a global leader in frontier technologies, NITI Aayog today launched two major initiatives—‘AI for Viksit Bharat Roadmap’ and the ‘Frontier Tech Repository’—under its Frontier Tech Hub.

The launch event, graced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, marked a decisive step toward harnessing artificial intelligence for inclusive development.

The AI roadmap outlines a sector-specific strategy to boost productivity, transform R&D through generative AI, and scale grassroots innovation. Complementing this, the Frontier Tech Repository showcases over 200 impact stories from agriculture, healthcare, education, and national security—demonstrating how technology is already reshaping lives across India.

NITI Aayog also announced the Frontier 50 Initiative to support Aspirational Districts in deploying proven tech use cases, and the Frontier Tech Impact Awards to recognise states excelling in tech-driven governance.

CEO B.V.R. Subrahmanyam emphasised that India’s ambition for 8% growth demands a seismic shift in innovation, with AI as the key enabler. Debjani Ghosh, Chief Architect of the Frontier Tech Hub, urged proactive strategies to anticipate disruptive tech trends and strengthen India’s global tech leadership.

The event saw participation from startup founders, district magistrates, and officials nationwide, reflecting a united push toward a tech-empowered future.
