Authorities at Utkal University campus are set to evict unauthorized occupants from government quarters starting tomorrow.
The move follows the expiration of notice deadlines issued to individuals residing illegally in staff quarters and nearby slum areas.
ACP Zone-5 Biswaranjan Senapati confirmed that police will initiate the eviction process on September 11, targeting those who have unlawfully occupied quarters meant for university staff and students. The crackdown is part of a broader effort to restore academic integrity and campus safety.
While the eviction of slum dwellers may take additional time due to procedural requirements, officials have assured that action will be taken in phases. The university administration has already removed non-students from hostel rooms under Operation ‘Blue Star’ and is now focusing on clearing the quarters of unauthorized residents.
The administration has also stated that the quarters will be cleaned and repurposed following the eviction, ensuring proper use of government property. Notices were served earlier this week, and police forces are on standby to carry out the operation peacefully.
