The Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre is hosting the State-Level Gotipua Dance Festival from August 30 to September 1, 2025, in Bhubaneswar, showcasing the vibrant cultural heritage of Odisha.


The festival has brought together 20 talented dance troupes from across the state, presenting captivating performances that highlight the traditional Gotipua dance form.

On the second day of the festival, distinguished personalities, including Padmashri Shyamamani Devi, Padmashri Priyambada Hejmadi, renowned dancer Sikata Das, and researcher Kirtan Narayan Padhi, graced the event.

A thought-provoking discussion titled “The Origin and Evolution of Gotipua” was organised, shedding light on the historical and cultural significance of this traditional dance.

The evening’s cultural program was a spectacle, with Gotipua performances featuring “Guru Bandhana,” “Mangalacharan,” “Dashavatar,” “Bandha Nritya,” and “Panchadeva Stuti.” These performances, rooted in Odisha’s rich artistic tradition, left the audience spellbound.

The troupes that performed included Aaradhana Dance Academy, Guru Maguni Jena Gotipua Nritya Parishad, Jayadev Gotipua Odissi Nritya Pratisthan, Shiva Parvati Gotipua Odissi Nritya Parishad, Jai Maa Singha Bahini, Srushti Foundation Trust, and Narayani Gotipua Kala Parishad.

The festival continues to celebrate the grace, agility, and cultural depth of Gotipua, captivating audiences and preserving Odisha’s artistic legacy.
