To cater to the anticipated rush of passengers during the upcoming Puja festival season, Indian Railways has announced the operation of the Weekly Puja Special Train between Patna and Puri.
This initiative aims to provide seamless and comfortable travel for devotees and holidaymakers heading to Puri’s sacred Jagannath Temple or returning to Patna during the festive period.
Train Schedule and Details
The Patna–Puri–Patna Weekly Puja Special (Train No. 03230/03229) will run every Thursday from Patna, starting August 28, 2025, to December 25, 2025, and every Friday from Puri, from August 29, 2025, to December 26, 2025.
The train is designed to accommodate a variety of travellers with its diverse coach composition, including one Second AC coach, two Third AC coaches, nine Sleeper Class coaches, six Second Class seating coaches, and two Luggage-cum-Second Class coaches equipped with Divyangjan-friendly facilities.
Route and Stops
The train will cover key stations in both directions, ensuring accessibility for passengers across Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Odisha. The stops include Bakhtiyarpur, Barh, Mokameh, Kiul, Jhajha, Jasidih, Madhupur, Chittaranjan, Asansol, Durgapur, Barddhaman, Dankuni, Andul, Kharagpur, Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur Road, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, and Sakhi Gopal. This extensive route connects major towns and cities, making it convenient for festive travellers.
