This year has seen the arrest of 181 individuals, including several senior government officials, as part of the department’s intensified crackdown on corruption.
The department’s comprehensive investigations have led to the discovery of substantial assets that far exceed the known sources of income of the accused. These assets include properties, cash, gold, and other valuables. The high-profile arrests underscore the department’s commitment to rooting out corruption at all levels of government.
Director of Odisha Vigilance, Y.K. Jethwa, highlighted the department’s achievements, stating, “Our relentless efforts have resulted in significant breakthroughs in tackling corruption and disproportionate asset cases. Among the notable cases, the arrest of a senior IAS officer and several high-ranking officials from various departments has drawn considerable attention. These arrests are part of a broader strategy to deter corrupt practices and promote ethical governance.
