Bhubaneswar: Several parts of Odisha woke up to light to moderate rainfall on Sunday, bringing a refreshing change to the weather. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted that this rainfall activity is likely to continue for the next 48 hours, affecting various districts across the state, including the capital city, Bhubaneswar.
According to the IMD, the rainfall is a result of a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal, which is expected to cause intermittent showers in the region. The weather department has advised residents to be prepared for occasional downpours and has issued a yellow alert for certain areas prone to heavy rainfall.
The rainfall has brought much-needed relief from the dry spell that Odisha has been experiencing over the past few weeks. Farmers in the region are particularly pleased, as the rain is beneficial for the Rabi crops currently being cultivated.
In Bhubaneswar, the rainfall has led to a drop in temperatures, providing a cool and pleasant atmosphere for the residents. However, the authorities have urged people to stay cautious and avoid waterlogged areas to prevent any mishaps.
The IMD has also indicated that the weather conditions are likely to improve after 48 hours, with a gradual decrease in rainfall activity.
