A man was brutally murdered near the junction of H. Bahadapalli village under Rambha police limits in Ganjam district.
The deceased, identified as P. Abhimanyu Pradhan (55), was the son of former village head Agadhu Pradhan of R. Bahadapalli.
According to reports, Abhimanyu was returning home from Rambha town after completing his marketing errands on his motorcycle (OR 07 A 1414) when he was ambushed near the village junction. Unidentified assailants attacked him with sharp weapons, leaving him fatally wounded.
Local residents alerted the police, who reached the spot and recovered the body. He was rushed to Khallikote Primary Health Centre, where doctors declared him dead. The body was later shifted to Chhatrapur for post-mortem.
Rambha IIC Kumar Muduli and SI Dharitri Biswal, along with other police personnel, have launched an investigation. Preliminary suspicions suggest that the murder may have been an act of revenge. Just two days earlier, another man named Manu Pradhan was killed near the Sabulia railway crossing in the same village. Locals believe Abhimanyu’s murder could be a retaliatory response to that incident.
