Malkangiri Records Highest Maximum Temperature at 35.6°C, Phulbani Hits Lowest at 12.5°C

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued its latest weather bulletin today, revealing a mix of conditions across Odisha.


Notably, a trough in westerlies from Gangetic West Bengal to south Chhattisgarh has become less marked.

Rainfall and Fog Report

Light to moderate rainfall was observed in North Odisha, with dry conditions persisting in South Odisha. Dense fog covered parts of Ganjam, while Bhadrak experienced moderate fog.

Rainfall data: Kaptipada (Mayurbhanj) recorded 5 cm, Rajnagar (Kendrapara) 2 cm, Udala (Mayurbhanj) 2 cm, Balimundali (Mayurbhanj) 1 cm, Chandbali (Bhadrak) 1 cm, Suliapada (Mayurbhanj) 1 cm.

Temperature Variations

The minimum temperature dropped by 2-4°C in some areas, rose by 2-3°C in others and remained stable elsewhere in Odisha. Malkangiri reported the highest maximum temperature at 35.6°C, while Phulbani recorded the lowest minimum at 12.5°C.

Weather Forecast and Warnings

Next 7 Days:

Dry weather is expected across Odisha for the next seven days, with no significant warnings.

Minimum temperatures are expected to remain unchanged for the next four days, followed by a rise of 2-3°C.

Bhubaneswar-Specific Forecast

The city can expect a partly cloudy sky with possible thunder and lightning. Temperatures will likely hover around a maximum of 33°C and a minimum of 20°C.

Fishermen’s Advisory

No weather warnings have been issued for the Odisha coast for the next five days, ensuring safe conditions for coastal activities.

Observations

Bhubaneswar’s recorded temperature stands at a maximum of 33.3°C and a minimum of 21.3°C. The city experienced 0.03 mm of rainfall with relative humidity ranging from 50% to 86%.
