Two senior IPS officers from the Odisha cadre have been empanelled by the Union Government for DG-level posts—marking their eligibility for top-tier central deputations.
Yeshwant Jethwa, a 1994-batch IPS officer currently serving as Director of Vigilance, has been approved to hold the post of Director General or its equivalent rank at the Centre. Jethwa’s reputation for integrity and his track record in streamlining anti-corruption drives within Odisha have earned him national appreciation.
Alongside him, RP Koche, a 1993-batch officer and presently the Director of Intelligence, has also been empanelled. Known for his deep operational insight and leadership in sensitive intelligence matters, Koche’s clearance adds to Odisha’s proud representation in India’s top security framework.
The empanelment underscores the Centre’s recognition of Odisha cadre officers’ experience and leadership at the national level. It also reflects increasing opportunities for state officers to contribute at wider administrative and strategic levels across India.
The announcement has drawn praise from bureaucratic circles in Odisha, with many viewing this as a testament to the state’s growing influence in public service leadership.
