A chilling incident unfolded near Hajari Chhak on the Paradeep-Chandikhol Express National Highway under Kendrapara Sadar Police limits, where a youth was found bleeding profusely with his throat allegedly slit.
Locals who found him in a critical state promptly alerted the police.
The police rescued him and admitted him first to the Kendrapada District Headquarters Hospital, but due to the severity of his injuries, he was shifted to SCB Medical College, Cuttack.
While the motive remains unclear, police have launched a full-scale investigation. Forensic teams have collected samples from the crime scene, and local surveillance footage is being examined to identify the assailants. Police have urged the public to come forward with any leads.
