Wimbledon 2025: Cash and Glasspool Become British Doubles Champions

VIEWS

In a historic moment at Wimbledon, Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool etched their names into tennis folklore, becoming the first all-British men’s doubles champions since 1936.

The fifth-seeded duo clinched the title with a commanding 6-2, 7-6(3) victory over Rinky Hijikata and David Pel on Centre Court, ending an 89-year drought for British pairs at the All England Club.

This triumph caps a remarkable grass-court season for Cash and Glasspool, who previously won titles at Eastbourne and Queen’s Club. The match showcased their synchronised play, a testament to teamwork honed through rigorous preparation.

Cash expressed the surreal nature of the achievement, saying, “The support was incredible—this is what it’s all for.” Glasspool echoed the sentiment, noting the historic weight of their win.

As Wimbledon 2025 concludes, this milestone not only celebrates their skill but also inspires a new generation of British tennis talent.
