With Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Odisha tour underway, security in the state capital, Bhubaneswar, has reached an all-time high.
Authorities have deployed 53 platoons of police force across key locations to ensure law and order during his visit.
In addition to the large-scale police mobilisation, specialised tactical units such as dog squads and bomb disposal teams have been activated in sensitive zones, particularly near rally venues and high-footfall areas. This strategic deployment underscores the gravity of the event and the administration’s commitment to maintaining public safety.
Local police officials have confirmed that round-the-clock monitoring is in place, with surveillance intensified at intersections, transport hubs, and congregation points. The security arrangements are among the most robust seen in recent political visits to the state.
Rahul Gandhi’s itinerary includes interactions with party members, public addresses, and site visits aimed at strengthening the Congress party’s presence in Odisha. The heightened alert serves both as a precautionary response and a demonstration of readiness ahead of any unforeseen developments.
The capital’s residents are advised to cooperate with security personnel and follow public safety guidelines, as movement restrictions may apply in certain areas.
