England’s women’s cricket team has unveiled a formidable 15-member squad for the much-anticipated three-match ODI series against India, scheduled to begin on July 16.

Headlining the squad’s returnees are skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt and ace spinner Sophie Ecclestone, who rejoin the side after injury setbacks.

Sciver-Brunt, who had been sidelined with a groin injury during the ongoing T20I series, is set to lead the team. Sophie Ecclestone, the world’s top-ranked Women’s ODI bowler, also makes her comeback after missing the recent West Indies series due to a knee injury. Both bring a much-needed edge as England seeks consistency and momentum.

Maia Bouchier, who filled in during the T20Is, has also earned a recall, reinforcing a batting lineup looking to counter India’s growing dominance in the white-ball format. The exclusion of leg-spinner Sarah Glenn underscores England’s intent to reshape its bowling strategy.

Head coach Charlotte Edwards reflected on the T20I lessons, stating, “India have really tested us. This ODI series is the perfect buildup to the ICC Women’s World Cup later this year, but we also want to win.”

India currently leads the T20I series 2-1, adding further intrigue as the ODI clash approaches. The series will span three iconic venues: Rose Bowl (July 16), Lord’s (July 19), and Riverside Ground (July 22).

With two of its most influential players back, England looks poised not just for redemption—but for a powerful statement ahead of the World Cup.

England squad: Nat Sciver-Brunt (captain), Em Arlott, Tammy Beaumont, Lauren Bell, Maia Bouchier, Alice Capsey, Kate Cross, Alice Davidson-Richards, Charlie Dean, Sophia Dunkley, Sophie Ecclestone, Lauren Filer, Amy Jones, Emma Lamb, Linsey Smith.

England v India ODI series schedule

1st ODI: Wednesday, July 16, Rose Bowl

2nd ODI: Saturday, July 19, Lord’s Cricket Ground

3rd ODI: Tuesday, July 22, Riverside Ground
