The sacred Bahuda Yatra—marking the return of the divine trinity to Srimandir—unfolded in Puri with unmatched spiritual fervour and cultural grandeur.
As per tradition, the Ratharudha rituals concluded successfully following the Pahandi Bije procession, drawing throngs of devotees to the Grand Road.
Subhadra Devi and Lord Sudarshan ascended the Darpadalana chariot amidst rhythmic chants and beating of gongs. Lord Balabhadra gracefully mounted the Taladhwaja, while Lord Jagannath, the beloved Kalia Thakura, took His place on the majestic Nandighosha.
With the Pahandi rituals completed, Gajapati Maharaja will perform the Chhera Pahanra, after which the sacred chariot-pulling will begin, drawing lakhs of devotees along the path to Srimandir. The return journey from Gundicha Temple to the sanctum of Srimandir symbolises the reunion of the divine with their cosmic abode.
The Bahuda Yatra is not merely a procession; it is an odyssey of faith, a symbol of Odia pride, and a vibrant manifestation of Odisha’s spiritual heritage.
