Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, will visit Odisha on July 11, 2025, to participate in the “Save Constitution” rally at Baramunda Ground in Bhubaneswar.

Accompanying him will be All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Mallikarjun Kharge and AICC General Secretary (Organisation) KC Venugopal.

The announcement was made by Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Bhakta Charan Das during a press briefing. The event aims to highlight the Congress party’s commitment to safeguarding India’s Constitution and addressing pressing national issues. The rally is expected to draw thousands of supporters, with preparations already underway to ensure its success.

A meeting of the Extended Political Affairs Committee was held at Congress Bhawan, where senior party leaders deliberated on strategies to make the event impactful. Discussions focused on mobilising grassroots workers, engaging the public, and amplifying the message of constitutional protection. Rahul Gandhi’s visit comes at a crucial time as the Congress seeks to strengthen its presence in Odisha, a state where the party has faced electoral challenges in recent years.

The “Save Constitution” rally is seen as a platform to galvanise support and critique policies perceived as threats to democratic values. Bhakta Charan Das emphasised the importance of unity among party ranks to make the event a resounding success. The rally will also feature speeches by Kharge and Venugopal, who are expected to address key issues like social justice, economic policies, and governance.

With Odisha’s political landscape heating up, this event could set the tone for Congress’s future campaigns in the state.
