Batting at No. 4, Tilak resumed on his overnight score of 98 and quickly reached his sixth First-Class century, eventually falling for a well-composed 100 off 241 balls, studded with 11 boundaries and three sixes.
The Hyderabad-born batter stitched a crucial 133-run partnership with England’s Liam Dawson, who himself registered a century, anchoring Hampshire’s innings. While Tilak made his First-Class debut back in 2019, all six of his hundreds have come in the last three years, underscoring a marked evolution in his red-ball temperament.
The milestone comes at an opportune time for Tilak, who had a lukewarm IPL 2025 season with the Mumbai Indians, managing 343 runs in 13 innings.
