Odisha Police has issued a cautionary alert about cybercriminals falsely posing as judicial officers, police officials, CBI agents, or customs officers.
These fraudsters are tricking innocent people by claiming they are under “digital arrest” for alleged offences and demanding money or personal information.
ସାଇବର ଅପରାଧୀମାନେ ନିଜକୁ ନ୍ୟାୟିକ ଅଧିକାରୀ, ପୋଲିସ ଅଧିକାରୀ, ସିବିଆଇ କିମ୍ବା କଷ୍ଟମ୍ ଅଧିକାରୀ ବୋଲି ପରିଚୟ ଦେଇ ଡିଜିଟାଲ ଗିରଫ କରିବାକୁ କହି ସାଧାରଣ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ଠକୁଛନ୍ତି । ଏଭଳି ଫୋନ କଲ ଆସିବା ମାତ୍ରେ ତୁରନ୍ତ ନିକଟସ୍ଥ ଥାନା କିମ୍ବା ୧୯୩୦କୁ ଯୋଗାଯୋଗ କରି ଅଭିଯୋଗ କରନ୍ତୁ।

Authorities emphasise that “digital arrest” is not a legally recognised term in Indian law. The police urge citizens to ignore such calls immediately and report them to the nearest police station or the cybercrime helpline at 1930.
Scammers typically use fear tactics to manipulate victims into compliance. Odisha Police advises the public to remain vigilant and never share sensitive details over the phone. By spreading awareness, people can help prevent such fraudulent activities and keep their communities safe.
