The Odisha government has assured immediate compensation for farmers affected by the recent low-pressure rains, which have caused significant damage to crops and infrastructure across multiple districts.

Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, during a high-level review meeting via video conferencing, emphasised the urgency of assessing losses and delivering timely relief. He directed district collectors to expedite the submission of damage reports, ensuring swift financial assistance for those impacted.

Officials confirmed that the government is prioritising relief measures, including support for affected families and rehabilitation programs. Farmers, who have suffered substantial crop losses, will receive compensation based on assessment reports submitted by local authorities.

The announcement has been welcomed by agricultural communities, who have been grappling with the aftermath of unseasonal rains. The government reiterated its commitment to protecting farmers and ensuring their financial stability amid adverse weather conditions.
