As part of the government’s tough approach against corrupt officials, Odisha Vigilance registered cases against 50 government officials in the last 8 months on charges of undeclared assets.
A total of Rs. 117 crores of undeclared assets were seized, including gold jewellery, houses, and plots worth over Rs. 4 crores from 11 officials.
In 13 cases, the accused were convicted, while 9 were acquitted. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi provided this information in response to a question from Congress MLA Pitha Sawanta in the Assembly.
A total of 3,692 Vigilance cases are currently pending in the state.
