Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) player Digvesh has been fined 50% of his match fees and handed a one-match suspension for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Ekana Stadium on Monday.
This marks Digvesh’s third Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 this season. He received Two Demerit Points for Monday’s breach, adding to the Three Demerit Points accumulated earlier — One against Punjab Kings on April 1 and Two against Mumbai Indians on April 4. Having reached a total of Five Demerit Points, Digvesh will be suspended for LSG’s upcoming fixture against Gujarat Titans on May 22 in Ahmedabad.
For Level 1 breaches, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding.
Meanwhile, SRH all-rounder Abhishek Sharma has been fined 25% of his match fees for his first Level 1 offence under Article 2.6 during the same match. Sharma has been handed One Demerit Point, though he remains eligible to play in SRH’s next game.
