Cuttack: A local court on Wednesday rejected bail petition of Amarendra Pratap Swain, nephew of Odisha Agriculture Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain (Raja), who was accused of thrashing a young man on road in public in Cuttack.
Amarendra moved the JMFC court seeking bail, but received a setback after the court refused to grant him relief.
Amarendra was arrested three days ago by Sadar police in Cuttack for forcing a youngster to kneel down on road near Pratap Nagari in a road rage incident.
Amarendra’s car was accidentally brushed by another following which a brawl erupted between him and the car driver. Later, Amarendra and his supporters thrashed the driver and forced him to kneel down on the road.
