Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Global Conference on Space Exploration (GLEX) 2025, highlighting India’s growing presence in space technology and its ambitious future endeavours.

During his speech, PM Modi emphasised that India’s space journey embodies curiosity, courage, and collective progress. He recalled India’s historic achievements, including the first successful Mars mission on the first attempt, breakthroughs in lunar exploration, and advanced satellite launches.

A significant moment in the address was the focus on Gaganyaan, India’s first human spaceflight mission, reflecting the nation’s aspirations in space technology. Additionally, PM Modi celebrated India’s recent success in docking two satellites in space, marking a breakthrough in space exploration.

He also revealed plans for the Bharatiya Antariksha Station, set to be operational by 2035, enabling international research. By 2040, India aims to land an astronaut on the Moon, contributing to global space missions.

India’s space sector continues to grow, welcoming startups and entrepreneurs, with over 250 space startups innovating in satellite technology. The Prime Minister also acknowledged the role of women scientists in leading many space missions, reinforcing gender inclusivity in scientific advancements.

Concluding his address, PM Modi reaffirmed India’s space philosophy, inspired by ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, meaning “the world is one family”, reinforcing global collaboration in space exploration.
