In a major step to boost religious tourism and cultural heritage, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Tuesday announced that the state will soon begin work on a ‘Shakti Corridor’—a unified spiritual route connecting the state’s prominent Shakti Peeths.

The corridor, expected to be completed within two years, will link key temples including Maa Tara Tarini, Maa Biraja, Maa Ugratara, Maa Bhagabati, Maa Mangala, Maa Kalijai, and Maa Bhairavi, offering devotees a well-planned spiritual circuit.

The announcement came during Parida’s visit to the Maa Tara Tarini temple in Ganjam, on the final Tuesday of the holy Chaitra month. She was accompanied by Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan. After offering prayers, the dignitaries conducted a parikrama and reviewed ongoing developmental work at the sacred site.

Speaking to reporters, Parida revealed that plans are underway to launch helicopter services for pilgrims, making the corridor more accessible, especially for elderly or long-distance travelers.

“This spiritual corridor will not only facilitate pilgrimage but also strengthen Odisha’s identity as a center of Shakti worship and divine feminine energy,” she said.

Minister Harichandan added that the government is committed to executing the corridor within the stipulated timeframe, offering a seamless pilgrimage experience to thousands of devotees from across the country.

The corridor is set to become a cornerstone in Odisha’s religious tourism and cultural preservation efforts.
