Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah married journalist Nidhi Razdan in a private ceremony on Friday, with both sharing pictures from the nuptials on social media on Saturday.
Posting photographs dressed in wedding attire on X, Abdullah wrote, “A new journey began yesterday,” tagging Razdan along with a ring emoji.

Razdan shared the same set of images on her social media handles, captioning the post, “It’s done, bro.” The announcement comes after Razdan was recently seen accompanying Abdullah to several public events.
This marks Abdullah’s second marriage. He was previously married to Payal Nath in 1994, with whom he shares two sons, Zahir and Zamir. The couple had lived separately since 2009, with Abdullah residing in Jammu and Kashmir while Nath and their sons remained in Delhi.
After years of legal proceedings, the Supreme Court granted Abdullah and Nath a final decree of divorce in July this year. Abdullah had challenged a December 2023 judgment of the Delhi High Court, which had previously upheld a 2016 family court ruling dismissing his divorce plea.
With the legal proceedings concluded earlier this year, the Chief Minister has officially embarked on a new personal chapter.
