In view of the prevailing flood situation and waterlogging caused by heavy rainfall in the aftermath of Cyclone Arnab, the Ganjam district administration has ordered the closure of all schools across the district until Nov 2.
Addressing a press conference, the Ganjam District Collector announced that all educational institutions—including primary, secondary, and high schools—will remain shut as a precautionary measure to safeguard students.
The severe flooding has inundated low-lying areas, disrupted key road networks, and affected everyday life across several blocks in the district.
Administrative officials indicated that the decision was taken considering safety concerns and ongoing post-flood restoration work in affected villages and urban centres. The district authorities are actively monitoring the flood situation and coordinating relief drives to clear inundated areas and restore essential services.
Parents, students, and school authorities have been advised to follow official administrative updates regarding the reopening of schools.
