High drama unfolded in Ganjam’s Purushottampur on Saturday after Khallikote MLA Purna Chandra Sethi was confronted and heckled by angry residents during a flood situation review.
According to reports, the legislator had visited the flood-affected area to inspect damage and review relief measures following recent heavy rainfall. However, agitated locals surrounded the MLA, voicing strong resentment over delayed assistance and inadequate relief operations.
The situation quickly escalated into pushing and shoving as the crowd jostled around the MLA, forcing security personnel and local authorities to intervene and escort him to safety. Local administrative officials have stepped in to pacify the aggrieved residents and monitor ongoing relief work in the region.
