Congress leader Sonia Gandhi made her official Instagram debut on Thursday, sharing an unboxing video to unveil the first look at her upcoming memoir, Belonging: A Journey of Love.
Describing the 544-page book as a story of “love, duty, loss and finding a place to belong,” Gandhi’s inaugural post gathered thousands of followers within minutes.
The video shows her unwrapping the copy and browsing through family photographs with her daughter, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Gandhi is currently following only three accounts: Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and the Indian National Congress.

Set to hit shelves on November 10, the memoir recounts her life from post-war Italy to marrying Rajiv Gandhi, navigating political tragedies, and her pivotal decision to forego the prime ministership in 2004.
The publication follows a major political controversy in August when Penguin Random House India withdrew from local distribution over editorial disagreements regarding passages on PM Narendra Modi, the RSS, and India-China relations.
While HarperCollins India will now publish the domestic edition, US-based Alfred A. Knopf remains the global publisher.
