Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik has extended warm Durga Puja and Dussehra greetings to the people of Odisha, describing the festival as a powerful reminder of the victory of truth and justice over falsehood and oppression.
In a video message, Patnaik said the celebrations convey “the message of victory of truth and justice over falsehood and injustice.” He further noted that “the struggle against falsehood, injustice and oppression is the best worship of the Mother,” linking the spirit of the festival to the values of righteousness and resistance against wrongdoing.
Patnaik prayed that the blessings of Maa Durga fill every life with happiness and joy, and bring peace and prosperity to every family across the state.
Patnaik’s statement continues his practice of framing festival messages around broader themes of public welfare and ethical governance, a style that has characterised his long political career as both former Chief Minister and now Leader of Opposition.
As Odisha immerses itself in the festive atmosphere, the message from the Leader of Opposition has been received as a call for collective commitment to truth and justice alongside the joy of the celebrations.
