Titlagarh police rescued nine migrant workers and arrested three agents involved in an illegal trafficking racket.
Acting swiftly on a tip-off, police raided a hotel at Block Pada in Titlagarh where several men and women had been confined.
Reports revealed that the traffickers planned to send the workers illegally to Hyderabad by train from Titlagarh station early in the morning. Consequently, police intervened and rescued nine workers, including four minors. Moreover, they arrested three agents identified as Madhu Kumbhar, Pinku Chhatria, and M. Naresh. Authorities confirmed that the trio had arranged to transport the workers without legal clearance.
Later, Assistant Labour Officer Rajanikant Chhatria visited Titlagarh police station, verified all documents, and ensured that the rescued workers returned safely to their homes.
Meanwhile, ASI Kiran Kumar Jani led the police team during the operation, which successfully dismantled the trafficking attempt. Furthermore, officials emphasised that strict action would continue against illegal labour trafficking networks in the region.
