Eight Maoists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Saturday.
The gunfight occurred around 8:30 am in the Gangaloor police station area while the jawans of DRG Dantewada were returning in a Scorpio after a joint operation.
The operation involved personnel from the District Reserve Guard, Special Task Force, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and its elite unit CoBRA. This development aligns with the central government’s vow to end Naxalism by 2026.
