A tragic railway accident claimed the lives of four commuters after they reportedly fell from an overcrowded suburban train between Diva and Mumbra stations earlier today.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:10 AM, as passengers were travelling aboard a packed local train.
According to initial reports, the Train Manager of an up local train raised the alarm after witnessing the accident. Emergency services, including ambulances, were immediately dispatched to the scene, transporting injured passengers to Chhatrapati Shivaji Hospital, Kalva, and Civil Hospital, Thane, for urgent medical attention.

While four individuals have been confirmed dead, several others sustained injuries in the incident. Railway authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, with senior officials closely monitoring the situation. Train operations in the area remain unaffected, despite the gravity of the event.
Commuters and safety experts continue to raise concerns over overcrowding and footboard travel on Mumbai’s suburban railway network, which has seen multiple such accidents over the years. Officials have assured that enhanced safety measures and stricter regulations will be considered to prevent future tragedies.
