Sundergarh/Balasore: At least three persons were killed while two others sustained critical injuries in two separate road mishaps across the state on Wednesday.
In the first incident, two persons were killed after the bike they were riding was hit by a speeding trailer at Rourkela in Sundergarh district.
The identities of the deceased persons were not known immediately.
On being informed, police reached the spot and launched a probe in this regard.
In another incident, a youth was killed while two others sustained critical injuries following a head-on collision between a bike and sand-laden tractor near Juriapatna Chhak under Nilagiri police limits of Balasore district today.
The deceased has been identified as Abhisekh Rout of Nilagiri NAC.
Reportedly, the incident took place late last night when the trio was heading towards Nilagiri.
Immediately, locals rushed them to the hospital in critical condition. Later, Abhisekh was referred to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) where doctors declared him ‘brought dead’.
