A total of 127 NCC cadets from Odisha will participate in the Republic Day Camp (RDC) in New Delhi from December 27, 2025, to January 29, 2026.
The cadets will represent the state at the Republic Day Parade and the NCC Prime Minister’s Rally.
Cadet Selection and Training
The contingent emerged from nearly 64,000 NCC cadets in Odisha. Of the 127 selected, 80 are boys, and 47 are girls. Among them, 112 cadets belong to the college NCC wing, while 15 cadets are from the school wing. The group, along with 10 supporting staff, departed for New Delhi today. Before leaving, they completed one month of intensive training at Nabarangpur to prepare for the prestigious event.
Minister’s Address
During the send-off, Higher Education Minister Shri Suryabanshi Suraj interacted with the cadets. He praised their discipline, dedication, and commitment to national unity and integrity. He said Odisha takes pride in its cadets representing the state on such a national platform. Furthermore, he assured that the Higher Education Department is working to expand NCC enrollment, enhance women’s participation, and establish women’s battalions in Odisha.
NCC Directorate Overview
On the occasion, Commodore Vikram Singh, Deputy Director General of Odisha NCC Directorate, presented a detailed overview of NCC activities in the state. He thanked the Minister for the initiatives to strengthen NCC and motivate cadets.
In addition, Director of the Higher Education Department Shri Kali Prasanna Mahapatra, Utkal University Vice-Chancellor Professor Yajneshwar Dandapat, and Group Captain Shri Debashish Mangaraj attended the programme.
