New Delhi: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke with Prime Minister Modi about the upcoming peace summit in Switzerland regarding the Russia-Ukraine war. He also expected India’s participation at the highest level in the conference and has invited Prime Minister Modi to visit Ukraine on Thursday.
On Wednesday, Zelenskyy congratulated PM Modi on his party’s third consecutive victory in the parliamentary elections and expressed his hope for India’s presence at the peace summit in Switzerland next week.
An international peace summit concerning the Russia-Ukraine war is scheduled to take place at the Burgenstock Resort in Switzerland on June 15-16. Over 160 countries have been invited to the summit.
Last month, Swiss State Secretary of Foreign Affairs Alexandre Fasel invited New Delhi in the hope of helping in bringing peace to Ukraine considering India’s close ties with both Russia and Ukraine.
India has been pressing for resolving the Ukraine conflict through dialogue and diplomacy.
