In a heart-wrenching incident near Khallikote Ghat, a young man lost his life after the ambulance transporting him to the hospital broke down on the way, causing a significant delay in receiving medical care.
According to sources, the youth had been seriously injured after being struck in the abdomen by a cricket ball. He was being rushed to a medical facility in Berhampur when the ambulance malfunctioned near Khallikote. Despite frantic efforts to resume the journey, the vehicle remained inoperable for over three hours.
During this critical window, the youth’s condition deteriorated rapidly. Tragically, he passed away inside the ambulance before medical help could be reached.
