A violent clash between two groups near Guru Kelucharan Park in Chandrasekharpur area of Bhubaneswar has left one youth critically injured and sparked tension in the locality. Police have arrested one person in connection with the incident and are searching for other suspects.

According to police, the injured youth, a resident of the Damana area, was attacked by a group of youths from the Housing Board colony due to previous enmity. The victim sustained serious injuries to his head and back and has been admitted to KIMS Hospital for treatment.

Sources said the confrontation escalated into violence when members of the rival group targeted the victim near the park. Soon after, nearly 20 youths gathered at the spot, reportedly attempting to launch a counter-attack. Quick intervention by Chandrasekharpur police prevented further escalation, leading to the arrest of one individual.

To maintain law and order and prevent any flare-up, additional police forces have been deployed in the area. Flag marches are being conducted, and intensive patrolling is underway.

Tension continues to prevail in the neighbourhood following the incident. Chandrasekharpur police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the exact cause of the longstanding rivalry and other circumstances surrounding the clash. Efforts are on to trace and apprehend the remaining accused.

Authorities have appealed to residents to remain calm and cooperate with the police to ensure peace in the area.
