A young man was brutally murdered in Bhubaneswar late Sunday night, just 300 meters from Khandagiri police station. The victim, identified as Krushna Padhy from Sorada in Ganjam district, lived with his father and sister.
Reports said two masked assailants entered the house and attacked Krushna with iron rods while his family watched in horror. He died instantly after repeated blows to the head. His father and sister sustained severe injuries and were admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar in critical condition.
Police teams from Khandagiri and Bharatpur, along with the Special Squad, scientific experts, and dog squad, reached the crime scene. Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena supervised the investigation and assured that all efforts are underway to nab the culprits.
Preliminary investigation suggested the murder may have been linked to a land dispute. Police suspect hired killers carried out the attack. Officials collected evidence, including CCTV footage, and provided security to the victim’s family.
The brutal Bhubaneswar murder has created panic in the capital. Authorities confirmed that every angle is being investigated and promised swift arrests.
