Jajpur: A woman went missing after jumping into the Kharasrota River from the Rajghat bridge in Jajpur district on Thursday.
The woman, identified as Mandakini Samal from Sribantapur, disappeared under the jurisdiction of the Sadar police station. Authorities have initiated an investigation to ascertain Mandakini’s reasons for jumping.
Witnesses claim Mandakini left her scooter, shoes, and mobile phone on the bridge before leaping into the river. Following the alert, firefighters and police officers arrived at the scene to conduct a search and rescue operation. Officials have since retrieved the woman’s personal items, including her scooter and mobile phone.
