Although the Southwest Monsoon remains weak over Odisha, the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar has issued a yellow warning for several districts, forecasting light to moderate rainfall accompanied by lightning, thunderstorms, and gusty surface winds reaching 30 to 40 kmph.
According to data recorded until 8:30 AM, isolated places across the state experienced light to moderate rainfall. Mayurbhanj district recorded significant spells of heavy rain, with GB Nagar registering 7 cm, followed by Kataka(4 cm), Balimundali (4 cm), Samakhunta (3 cm), and Polasara in Ganjam (3 cm). Locations such as Rasgovindpur, Golamunda, Tirtol, Betnoti, and Baripada also received light precipitation.
