In a remarkable display of perseverance and resilience, Mahesh Panda, a visually impaired resident of Biruhanpada village under Korei block in Jajpur district, has successfully cleared the Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) examination, securing the 300th rank.

Born blind, Mahesh never let his disability define his destiny. Inspired by a childhood dream of becoming a civil servant, he pursued his goal with unwavering focus and dedication. Despite failing twice in previous attempts, Mahesh remained undeterred and finally achieved success in his third try.

To support his family, Mahesh worked as a school teacher in Athagarh, teaching students during the day and preparing for the OAS exam at night. His journey is a testament to the power of self-belief and hard work.

Mahesh is the son of the late Laxmi Narayan Panda, and his story has now become a beacon of hope for many aspiring candidates facing adversity. His achievement underscores the importance of inclusive opportunities and the need to recognize talent beyond physical limitations.
