Vedanta Aluminium has proudly announced a 100% placement success for its 27th batch of the Food & Beverage (F&B) Skill Training Programme held in Kalahandi, Odisha.

This milestone is particularly notable as it includes seven specially-abled candidates who have secured positions across prominent organisations in the aviation, hospitality, and service sectors.

Participants have found employment with esteemed names such as IndiGo, Club Mahindra, and Belgian Waffle, highlighting industry confidence in skill-based and inclusive hiring practices from aspirational districts like Kalahandi. The training programme is conducted in collaboration with the Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA) and NABARD, aiming to create sustainable livelihood opportunities in line with the national agenda of Viksit Bharat and aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 1 (No Poverty) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).

The initiative has trained over 941 rural youth to date, with an impressive 80% placement rate. Many participants, including specially-abled individuals from remote rural areas, have benefited from technical training and workplace readiness modules that facilitate their integration into the mainstream workforce.

Mr. Pranab Kumar Bhattacharyya, CEO of Vedanta Alumina Business, emphasised the importance of inclusive hiring as a strategic imperative rather than merely a social initiative. Reflecting on the transformative impact of the programme, participant Tribhuban Suna shared, “Before joining, I had little hope for a job. Now I’m proudly employed and able to support my family. This opportunity has changed my life.”

Vedanta’s commitment to community development extends beyond skilling, with initiatives positively impacting over 150,000 lives through healthcare, education, women’s empowerment, and infrastructure development in the region.
