India’s cricketing future looks bright as 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi secures a place in the 15-member India A squad for the Rising Asia Cup, set to begin on November 14 in Qatar.
The BCCI announced the squad on Monday, with Jitesh Sharma named captain and Naman Dhir as vice-captain.
Suryavanshi’s selection follows a breakout IPL 2025 season where he scored 252 runs in seven matches, including a century and a half-century. His fearless strokeplay earned him widespread acclaim and positioned him among the most exciting young talents in world cricket.
His momentum continued in Youth ODIs, where he smashed a 52-ball century against England in Worcester—the fastest in Youth ODI history—and followed it with a 113-run knock against Australia U19 in Brisbane.
India A’s squad also includes IPL standouts Nehal Wadhera, Ashutosh Sharma, Gurjapneet Singh, and Vijay Kumar Vyshak. Jitesh Sharma, currently part of India’s senior T20I squad in Australia, adds experience and finishing strength to the lineup.

India A will compete in Group B alongside Pakistan A, UAE, and Oman. Their campaign begins November 14 against UAE, followed by matches against Pakistan A (Nov 16) and Oman (Nov 18). Standby players include Gurnoor Singh Brar, Kumar Kushagra, Tanush Kotian, Sameer Rizvi, and Shaik Rasheed.
