Tensions in the Middle East intensified after Donald Trump issued a fresh warning to Iran following a deadly strike on a key bridge in Karaj.
The attack, reportedly carried out by US-Israeli forces, resulted in civilian casualties and has further escalated the ongoing conflict.
Trump shared a video of the damaged structure, claiming it depicted the collapse of one of Iran’s major bridges. In his statement, he warned Tehran to reach a deal “before it is too late,” signalling the possibility of further military action.
Civilian Casualties Reported in Karaj Strike
According to Iranian state media, the strike on the B1 Bridge in Karaj killed at least eight civilians and injured 95 others. Many of those affected were reportedly gathered nearby to celebrate a public holiday known as Nature Day.
The incident has raised concerns internationally, particularly due to the reported presence of families and civilians at the site during the attack.
Iran Condemns Attack, Vows Strong Response
Iranian officials strongly condemned the strike, describing it as an attack on civilian infrastructure. Abbas Araghchi stated that such actions would not weaken Iran’s resolve.
He emphasised that the country would rebuild damaged infrastructure and continue to defend its sovereignty. Iranian authorities also criticised the broader military campaign, calling it destabilising for the region.
Escalation Threats Raise Global Concerns
In a separate statement, Trump indicated that further strikes could target additional infrastructure, including bridges and power facilities. He asserted that US military operations could intensify in the coming weeks.
The remarks have heightened fears of a broader regional conflict, especially as both sides maintain firm positions and diplomatic efforts remain uncertain.
Ongoing Conflict and Diplomatic Uncertainty
The current escalation follows weeks of hostilities between Iran and US-Israeli forces. While Washington has suggested that negotiations remain possible, Iranian officials have rejected claims that they are seeking to surrender.
Global leaders continue to call for de-escalation, warning that prolonged conflict could impact regional stability, energy security, and international trade routes.
