The University of Manchester, UK, is set to offer over Rs 49 crore in scholarships for the upcoming academic year starting in September 2025.
This initiative aims to support international students, particularly from South Asia, including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
Global Futures Scholarships for Undergraduates
The university has announced over 100 merit-based undergraduate scholarships, each worth up to £24,000 (Rs 25 lakh) spread across three years. These scholarships provide £8,000 per year as a tuition fee discount.
Global Futures Scholarships for Masters
For postgraduate students, over 230 scholarships are available, each worth £8,000 (Rs 8.3 lakh) as a tuition fee discount.
GREAT Scholarship 2025
In collaboration with the British Council and the UK government, the GREAT Scholarship 2025 offers £10,000 (Rs 10.3 lakh) towards tuition fees for one-year master’s programs, specifically targeting students enrolling in the School of Arts, Languages, and Cultures.
Eligibility and Application
These scholarships are open to students from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka who have been living in one of these countries for the past three years and are self-funded. Certain programs, such as Medicine, Dentistry, and Architecture, are excluded.
Eligible students will receive application forms after securing an offer. The deadlines for scholarship applications are:
- Undergraduate: April 10, 2025
- Masters: April 24, 2025
Additional Scholarship and PhD Funding
Indian students can also apply for various Indian government scholarships, including the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Scheme, Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Scholarship, National Overseas Scholarship Scheme, and Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Overseas Scholarship.
