Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reviewed the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY) and Krishonnati Yojana through a nationwide video conference on January 29, 2026.
Odisha Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo participated in the meeting. He highlighted Odisha PM-RKVY Krishonnati progress and reported that the state utilised 79 per cent of funds under PM-RKVY and 80 per cent under Krishonnati Yojana.
Minister Chouhan expressed satisfaction with Odisha’s performance. He commended the state for proper investment in the agriculture sector and urged officials to maintain this momentum. Odisha seeks early release of remaining funds to launch six new projects that will further boost agricultural development.PM-RKVY promotes sustainable agriculture practices.
Krishonnati Yojana strengthens food security and self-sufficiency. Odisha advances natural farming, crop diversification, and millet promotion, positioning the state as a model for others. Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Additional Chief Secretary of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Shri Shubham Saxena, Director of Agriculture, and Dr Ganeshwar Jena, Additional Secretary, attended the meeting.
