British Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed deep sorrow following the crash of a London-bound flight carrying numerous British nationals in Ahmedabad, India.

“The scenes emerging of a London-bound plane carrying many British nationals crashing in the Indian city of Ahmedabad are devastating,” said Starmer in an official statement.
“I am being kept updated as the situation develops, and my thoughts are with the passengers and their families at this deeply distressing time,” he added.

Authorities in both the United Kingdom and India are closely monitoring the situation as emergency response efforts are underway. Further details regarding the cause of the crash and the condition of the passengers are awaited.

Ahmedabad witnessed a devastating aviation disaster today as Air India Flight AI171 crashed into the Meghaninagar area shortly after takeoff from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, carrying approximately 242 passengers and crew members, went down only minutes after departure, leaving authorities scrambling for answers and emergency responders rushing to the scene.

On board the ill-fated flight were 169 Indian nationals, 53 British citizens, 7 Portuguese nationals, and 1 Canadian citizen.
