Two Youths Die of Asphyxiation While Cleaning Well in Rayagada

A tragic incident in Bandiri village under Chandrapur police limits in Rayagada district has claimed the lives of two young men due to asphyxiation while cleaning a well.


The victims, identified as Tete Tangaranga (25) and Chittaranjan Tangaranga (28), were cleaning the well in the Kalimasahi area when they became trapped and unable to escape.

Local residents immediately informed the nearby fire brigade, which rushed to the scene and retrieved the men from the well. They were taken to the nearest health centre, where doctors pronounced them dead on arrival. The accident has left the local community in shock and mourning, creating a sombre atmosphere in the area.

Chandrapur police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
