A fatal road accident in Rayagada district claimed the lives of two students on Thursday morning.
The deceased were identified as Bishnu Sabar of Tembaguda village and Debendra Sabar of Soura Sahi, Gudari.
The incident occurred near Kandajam under Ramanaguda police station when a bike carrying two students collided head-on with a private bus. One student died instantly at the spot, while the other succumbed to injuries during treatment at the Ramanaguda community health centre.
Police confirmed that the victims were first-year students of the Adibasi Kalyan Parishad Higher Secondary School in Badisola. They were travelling from Gudari to attend their examinations when the accident took place.
Police reached the scene and launched an investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
