Security forces killed two Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists in a joint operation in the Chatroo area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district on Sunday.

Officials confirmed that the encounter broke out during Operation Trashi-I, launched after credible intelligence inputs.

Troops from the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF coordinated the mission. At approximately 11:00 AM, forces re-engaged the terrorists in challenging terrain and neutralised them with tactical precision. Arms and ammunition were recovered, including two AK-47 rifles. Officials described the success as a significant achievement against Pakistan-based terror networks.

White Knight Corps tweeted that the operation demonstrated “seamless synergy and resolute aggression,” ensuring dominance at the encounter site. Authorities emphasised that the mission formed part of ongoing efforts to eliminate terrorist presence and prevent militant activity in the region.

Meanwhile, Budgam Police attached an immovable property linked to suspected terror operative Ghulam Nabi Najar, son of late Abdul Jabbar, in Gamgulla Khansahib. The property includes 1 kanal and 16 marlas of prime land. Police said the attachment followed due legal formalities under applicable criminal procedure provisions.

Officials described the step as a strong measure aimed at weakening terror-linked networks by targeting assets believed to support unlawful activities. Budgam Police stated that the crackdown sends a clear warning that those involved in anti-national activities will face prosecution and risk losing property.

District-wide searches also led to the seizure of digital devices and incriminating material. Investigators are examining evidence related to logistics support, propaganda, and recruitment. Authorities reiterated that operations against terror networks and their support structures will continue to safeguard peace and public safety in Jammu and Kashmir.
