A chilling crime unfolded in Odisha’s Jajpur district as two assailants forcefully entered a home in Dekudi village, leaving a tragic trail of violence. The attack resulted in the death of 75-year-old Koushalya Pati and serious injuries to her 60-year-old daughter, Mamata.
According to police reports, the incident occurred late Friday night when two accused, identified as Manguli Das and Bikash Das, stormed into the residence with alleged intentions of robbery. During the violent scuffle, Koushalya Pati succumbed to her injuries, while Mamata was left grievously wounded.
Following a complaint filed by Mamata, Balichandrapur Police registered Case No. 96/25 and launched an intense investigation. The accused were swiftly taken into custody after Mamata identified them. Law enforcement officers carried out a detailed scene recreation, including video documentation, before formally arresting both suspects and presenting them in court.
Authorities are working to determine if the attack was part of a larger criminal pattern, while locals remain in shock over the brutal nature of the crime.
